Hire discreetly

Post a job anonymously: hire discreetly

Want to fill a position without your team, competitors or the market finding out? On SilentHire you post the job without your company name. Vetted recruiters propose suitable candidates – and only the recruiter whose proposal you release contact details for learns your name.

When an anonymous job posting makes sense

Succession or replacement

A position is to be filled before the team or the current holder of the role finds out.

Confidential plans

A new site, a new product or a restructuring – competitors and the market should not notice yet.

Key positions

For executive and specialist roles discretion matters, so that customers, partners and staff are not unsettled.

No flood of applications

Instead of a flood of unsuitable applications you receive targeted proposals from recruiters who pre-select their candidates.

Three ways to post a job anonymously

Anonymous job ad (box number)

You place an ad without your company name on a job board. Applications arrive directly and often in large numbers – screening and follow-up are up to you.

Exclusive assignment to a recruitment consultant

A consultant searches discreetly for you. You work with exactly one recruiter, on the terms you agree with them.

Anonymously via SilentHire

Your job reaches several vetted recruiters anonymously. You see anonymized candidate profiles including the fee and decide yourself whom to contact. The platform is free for companies.

What stays anonymous – and when does it become visible?

  • Recruiters see the title, location, description and – if given – the salary range of your job, but neither your company name nor contact details.
  • Candidate profiles reach you without names or contact details. You clarify questions beforehand in the anonymous chat.
  • Only when you release contact details for a proposal do you and that one recruiter see each other's contact details. Nobody else learns anything.

Tip: word the job description so that it does not reveal your company – no product or customer names and no exact address.

Frequently asked questions about anonymous job postings

Is an anonymous job posting allowed?

Yes. Job ads without a company name – formerly box-number ads – are common. As with any posting, the text must be free of discrimination (German General Equal Treatment Act).

What does an anonymous posting on SilentHire cost?

The platform is free for companies. Costs only arise if you hire through a recruiter – at the fee or billing rate they state before you release contact details.

Who finds out which company is hiring?

Nobody, as long as you do not release contact details. If you release them for a proposal, only that one recruiter finds out.

Can I request temporary staff anonymously too?

Yes. Choose the job type temporary staffing when creating the job. Proposals for it can only be submitted by staffing providers whose temporary staffing permit we have verified.

How is this different from a box-number ad?

With a box-number ad candidates apply directly to you and you sort them yourself. On SilentHire vetted recruiters propose candidates they have pre-selected. You see the fee in advance and decide whom to talk to.
